Freight forwarding, and the paperwork that comes with it
We move cargo into and out of South Africa by sea, air and road, and clear it through customs on arrival. One company answers for the whole journey.
We are not a carrier
A forwarder does not own the ships, aircraft or trucks. It sits between you and the carriers that do, and takes on the difficult part: which combination of carriers, routes and paperwork gets your consignment there for the right money.
We take the bids
We price across established sea, air, road and rail carriers and put forward the option that best balances speed, cost and reliability. Where more than one route makes sense, we say so and let you choose.
We do the paperwork
Customs documentation and clearance, import and export permits, bond storage and Goods in Transit cover. This is the half that delays shipments when it is wrong, and we handle it in-house.
What we move
- Sea freight
Full and part container loads, break bulk, reefer, and plant or vehicle shipments, door to door or port to port.
- Air freight
International and domestic, including direct, trans-shipment, consolidation and cold storage.
- Road freight
Cross-border and domestic, full and dedicated truck loads, abnormal loads and dangerous goods.
- Clearing and forwarding
Customs clearance, import and export documentation, general and bond storage, duties and VAT deferment.
Part of the QUADTECH group
GlobeFreight is one of five QUADTECH businesses, alongside AutoTransport, InterDoc, ExpressRoad and IC-Express. Where a job needs vehicle transport or courier work rather than freight forwarding, it goes to the company that does it every day instead of being taken on regardless.
